Everyone needs an assistant to help them complete their day-to-day tasks, and a pharmacist is no different.
Everyone needs an assistant to help them complete their day-to-day tasks, and a pharmacist is no different. A <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/pharmacy-tech/"title="Pharmacy Tech" >pharmacy technician is the pharmacist’s “assistant” and helps him or her keep the <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/"title="pharmacy" >pharmacy running in an efficient and orderly manner – from counting medication to answering the phone.

<a href="	http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/pharmacy-technician/"title="pharmacy technician" >Pharmacy technicians play an important role – when a prescription is received, the pharmacy technician checks the prescription, completes the insurance information, labels the bottle, measures the medication and pours it. Upon completion of the medical prescription, the pharmacist will double-check the medicine for any errors in measurement, count, or labeling. The pharmacy technician assists the head pharmacist, but the final word always comes from the pharmacist.

The role of a pharmacy technician is a large and important one – however technicians cannot answer questions about medications and their possible side-effects or compound the actual <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/medicines/"title="medicines" >medicines. This is the responsibility of the pharmacist, who has an extensive <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/education/"title="education" >educational background and is licensed by the state.

The responsibilities of a pharmacy technician include:

Helping the pharmacists count the prescription pills

Labeling medicine bottles

Answering the phones

Taking care of the money

Checking prescriptions

Organizing the medication on the shelves

Keeping count of all medication to ensure an all-day supply

A pharmacy technician can work in a hospital setting, nursing home, or pharmacy. They can set their schedules to work full or part-time. The good news is that this is a <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/career/"title="career" >career that is on the rise – the elderly population has increased and more people are taking medications than ever before. Scientific research continues to make breakthroughs in medications and treatments, which in turn increases the need for well-trained pharmacy technicians in pharmacies nationwide.

How does a pharmacy technician learn the right skills? Pharmacy technician courses are offered at various <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/schools/"title="schools" >schools and colleges, including:

Vocational Colleges

Technical Colleges

Community Colleges

Hospitals

Proprietary Schools

The duties of a pharmacy technician, like many other <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/jobs/"title="jobs" >jobs, is an important one. The necessary skills learned by a pharmacy technician will provide a tremendous help to pharmacists nationwide and keep the pharmacy or medical facility running in a smooth manner – while effectively meeting the needs of patients. It’s a career that helps people on a daily basis and makes a difference every day.

An aspiring <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/"title="pharmacy" >pharmacy technician needs one basic item to get things started. This is the <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/pharmacy-tech/"title="Pharmacy Tech" >pharmacy tech degree. The pharmacy tech degree is obtained through training. Medical institutions offer six months to one year of training for would be technicians to obtain a pharmacy tech degree. Some <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/schools/"title="schools" >schools even offer online training. The quality of training obtained through <a href="	http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/pharmacy-technician/"title="pharmacy technician" >pharmacy technician schools varies from one school to another.

An aspiring technician must be very careful in choosing the right school in getting the pharmacy tech degree. It could be a regular school or an online degree program. What matters is that the school must ably prepare students to obtain their certifications or licenses afterwards. Their training programs must therefore be geared towards this goal. It is useless for somebody to be having a pharmacy tech degree but does not have a license to practice the profession. The training program offered in schools must ensure and guide students to get their licenses afterwards.

So how do aspiring pharmacy technicians know which school offer the best pharmacy tech degree program? The schools which have the most graduates obtaining their licenses afterwards would be the best. Schools can always claim that they offer the best pharmacy tech degree program there is to offer. What would speak for their success would be the number of graduates of pharmacy tech degree programs obtaining their licenses afterwards. This is one indicator which nobody can deny that the training being offered is the best.

The pharmacy tech degree may be very important. It is the first big step towards actually practicing the profession. Students while undergoing pharmacy tech degree programs must keep in mind that earning the degree is not an end goal. Obtaining the license is not even the end goal. The pharmacy tech degree is just the beginning towards making a big difference in the <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/healthcare/"title="healthcare" >healthcare service sector.

Vocational nursing programs are offered at schools throughout Southern California. A career in nursing is still in high demand, both here and abroad. Nursing offers immense employment opportunities, as well as many financial and professional advantages. Through an accelerated program, a nursing student can become a licensed vocational nurse (LVS) in as little as 11 months.

As a vocational nursing schoolgraduate student you will be able to demonstrate competencies in direct patient-care activities and ethical, caring behaviors while providing nursing care. Often, graduates and active students in upper level vocational nursing classes are offered free review classes to help prepare for the NCLEX-PN exam. Upon passing this licensure exam, graduates may obtain employment as a licensed vocational nurse.

A California Licensed Vocational Nurse works in hospitals, both public and private, in nursing and convalescent homes, in medical clinics and for health service agencies, government agencies such as the Peace Corps, and in the military. Some are self-employed working through nursing agencies for private duty service.

The average licensed nurse in the U.S. earns between $43,370 and $63,360 a year-some even earn as much as $71,000 to $113,000 a year. Most nursing <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/jobs/"title="jobs" >jobs come with good benefits as well, in addition to bonuses, family-friendly work schedules, and subsidized training. This is because there is a shortage of nurses, so employers will offer benefits to attract and retain more nurses on their staff.

Vocational nursing <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/schools/"title="schools" >schools also offer training programs for other successful <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/careers/"title="careers" >careers in the <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/tag/healthcare/"title="healthcare" >healthcare sector, such as surgical technology, <a href="http://pharmacy-in-jobs.pharmacy-bg.com/"title="pharmacy" >pharmacy technician, diagnostic medical sonographer, and medical assistant training.
